Let’s Talk!-3/22/13

Welcome to the Let’s Talk weekly discussion meme!

Originally hosted by Melissa from i swim for oceans, Smash & Kt took her original inspiration, and made it their own, expanding it to more than just books. Let’s get personal (but respectfully so) and learn more about one another!  Each week, a different question will be posted along with a place to link up your posts and visit other people’s responses. This meme is definitely meant to bring out conversation and meet new people. So, Let’s Talk!

Q: Are too many books being made into movies?

A: Honestly, I hadn’t really thought about it until now. I don’t go out to the movies too much because it’s so expensive these days, but there really are a lot of books being made into movies. I don’t know if it’s because they’re run out of ideas for original movies or they just really want to make some awesome books more real. (probably both)

I don’t really have a problem with it, I know there are some awesome ones that have already been made (Harry Potter and Hunger Games) so I will just have to see how more of them turn out.

What’s your thoughts on books being turned into movies these days?

  1. I don’t go out to the movies much either anymore, you’re right it’s pricey!! The movies I do end up going out to see or watching at home (that ARENT based on books) I tend to be let down in lately. There seems to be no originality left. So in a way, it’s good that they are taking books -which usually have better developed plot and characters anyways – and turning them into movies.

As long as they try to do the book justice…some adaptations have been *ahem* lacking. o.O But you’re right Harry Potter & Hunger Games were great 🙂

I love comments! Feel free to leave one, and if it doesn't show up right away don't worry, I just have to approve it.
