Synopsis from Goodreads:
Heaven and Hell are at war
The clock is ticking
Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis’s niece is missing and pregnant with Lucifer’s child, her sister has descended into madness, and the human race has begun a relentless spiral toward self-destruction that Alex is desperate to stop. Now Michael, the Archangel she holds responsible for Earth’s plight, has returned—and he’s demanding her help to track a missing god.
Heaven is losing
Fighting for the very survival of his own realm—and that of humanity—Michael’s only chance to defeat Hell lies in returning Heaven’s long-lost daughter to her throne before it’s too late. But first he’ll have to convince Alex to help him—and to keep her out of Seth’s clutches long enough for her to do so.
There can be no right choices
In a desperate bid to save both their worlds, Alex and Michael must put aside their animosity and find a way to work together in the face of increasingly impossible decisions…and unimaginable sacrifices.
What I Thought:
Like the rest of this series, I fell in love with this story. It didn’t take me long to get back into it and remember all that happened. There’s a bit of re-cap throughout the beginning and it starts you right into the action.
I’m not sure which is my favourite in this series but I really liked this one. Everything gets wrapped up since it’s the last book. The big battle finally happens and of course there’s some awesome action and fighting going on. I was kind of sad about it being the last book, but I plan on getting the paperbacks for all the books soon so I can re-read in a row next time!
I know I’ve said it before, but this is a must-read series. Everything that we’ve read so far just builds even more until the end. We get to see more of the Archangel Michael, who is probably one of my favourites in this series now. Alex still deals with grief and keeping herself sane, even though she deals with even more in this book. She’s still so strong and I just can’t hep but love her character. Seth…well you’ll have to read to find out about him. We meet some new people too and of course some come back that we loved to hate in the past.
Pick up this series and give it a try! It’s definitely going to be a favourite on my shelf.
