#ReadThemAllThon Final Progress

readthemallthon

This read-a-thon is hosted by Read at Midnight! Here’s a little more info about it:

The Pokemon Indigo League #ReadThemAllThon is a 3 weeks long reading challenge based on theKanto’s Indigo League. Long-time fans of the series would recognise this as the first set of gyms Ash Ketchum had to conquer in his quest to become the Pokemon Master. Now you, my friends, will also embark on a journey to become the very best. Instead of fighting gym battles, you’ll be reading books instead! The read-a-thon will run for 3 weeks between Sunday 14th August to Sunday 4th September.

I actually think I did really well for this read-a-thon! You can check out my post I updated while I went HERE.

So, how did I do?

My Pokemon evolved to the third tier and I was so happy! The third week of the read-a-thon I was off work on vacation, and sadly I was sick/wasn’t feeling well most of it. The headache stayed for quite a few days and I wasn’t able to read. I think for the next round (here’s hoping there is one) I would choose shorter books and then just get extra points reading more books. I tried reading a 600+ pager and it didn’t work out! But I did have quite a lot of fun.

Review:

  • Finally got around to reading this! I love this series and I was so glad to get back to this world. The dark humour and characters were just as I remembered them.
  • Meda and Jo are still such great characters, and I actually really liked Jo in the second half of the book. Even Armand was enjoyable after the events in the second book.
  • This is a series that I definitely need to re-read back to back some day and I really hope that more people get into it!

  • This book was so cute! I loved the other book I read by this author so I was glad I finally got to get to this.
  • Certain parts were frustrating because it made you feel like they kept getting further and further apart and that it might not work out. But at the same time it really made you feel how long-distance relationships could feel, even though theirs was complicated. My husband and I did long distance for a while until he moved in, so I understood the need of wanting the other person there.
  • I loved the postcard theme throughout the book! I think it would have been even more amazing if we could have seen the postcards though.

I pretty much grew up playing all the Pokemon games from when I was a kid, and the recent Pokemon Go love has made me so happy! So of course I’m really excited to participate in this. I will probably add a progress page or something closer to the read-a-thon, or I might just edit this. Continue reading
