Review:
- Parts of the book, especially when they were hiding, felt a little slow. I wanted more suspense. The last third of the book was super good though! A lot of stuff happened that I wouldn’t have suspected or even figured out on my own.
- Really liked the characters. Riley was dealing with PTSD and survivors guilt, but she still managed to do so much during the book, even if she didn’t feel that way. I liked that she had knowledge thanks to her father being a cop.
- Max had his own POV. It was done differently than Riley and I liked that it seemed to match him really well. The dictionary descriptions went well for each one, but I also liked that it helped you understand how he was thinking a bit more.

Review:
- It was interesting but I thought the story would be different based on the description. I can’t pinpoint what exactly I was expecting, but it was missing something.
- Nix’s father had a lot of problems in this book and I had a hard time liking him, I still didn’t near the end, but if he would have communicated with his daughter more a lot of things could have gone smoother.
- The traveling aspect was the most interesting, but some of the rules about the maps really sucked for the characters. I wanted to more about the traveling and how it worked. We do learn some crucial things but I wanted more.
- Overall it was an ok book but not one that I loved.
